Politics
A new exhibit at The People’s House museum on Pennsylvania Avenue features a full‑scale replica of Donald Trump’s Oval Office, complete with gold appliqués, leaf and trim that echo the former president’s second‑term décor. Visitors can sit behind a copy of the Resolute Desk and view the space as it was arranged during Trump’s administration.
The interactive museum, located just 150 yards from the real White House, includes an orientation film narrated by former "West Wing" star Martin Sheen. Among the day's guests was nine‑year‑old Sydney Wright, who posed at the desk and expressed enthusiasm for the lavish setting.
The attraction aims to offer a hands‑on experience of recent presidential history, drawing a steady stream of tourists and school groups interested in the visual and cultural legacy of the Trump era.
Why It Matters
The exhibit reflects growing public interest in recent U.S. political history and adds a new draw for Washington’s tourism sector.
