Judge Orders White House to Keep CNN, MS Now, Politico Access
Federal judge extends White House access for CNN, MS Now and Politico after a September ban by the Trump administration.
Politics
A federal district court judge has ordered the White House to continue allowing journalists from CNN, MS Now and Politico onto the White House grounds. The ruling comes as the media coalition’s lawsuit against the Trump administration proceeds.
Judge Timothy Kelly had previously granted a 14‑day reprieve on 24 September after the administration barred the three outlets in early September, citing what it called “constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS.” The latest order extends that temporary relief while the legal challenge unfolds.
Why It Matters
The ruling underscores ongoing tensions over press freedom and government control of media access in the United States.
