Lenovo Legion Go S Handheld Beats Steam Deck OLED on Specs
Lenovo’s Legion Go S handheld matches Steam Deck OLED software but adds a bigger 1080p 120 Hz screen, double RAM/storage, and a lower price.
Tech
Lenovo’s new Legion Go S handheld runs SteamOS, offering the same software ecosystem as Valve’s Steam Deck OLED but with a number of hardware upgrades. The device features a two‑stage trigger system and an eight‑inch IPS display that delivers full‑HD resolution at up to 120 Hz, compared with the Deck OLED’s 800p panel limited to 90 Hz.
In addition to the brighter, faster screen, the Legion Go S ships with twice the amount of RAM and storage found in the Deck OLED, giving it a clear performance edge. Lenovo markets the handheld as a “hundreds‑off” alternative to the $789 Steam Deck OLED, positioning it as a more affordable option for gamers seeking premium handheld performance.
Both devices run identical SteamOS software, meaning users can access the same game library and features regardless of the hardware they choose. The Legion Go S’s enhanced triggers and higher‑refresh display aim to provide a smoother, more responsive gaming experience.
Why It Matters
The Legion Go S gives US and European gamers a high‑performance handheld at a lower price point, expanding options in a competitive market.
