NASA Releases Over 800GB of Artemis II Science Data Online
NASA releases over 800GB of Artemis II photos, videos and audio for public download, boosting lunar research.
Tech
NASA has made a massive archive from the Artemis II mission publicly available on its new "Artemis II: Sights & Sounds of Science" website. The collection totals more than 800 gigabytes of raw data, including over 11,000 photos and videos captured during the flight.
In addition to visual media, the archive contains more than 8.5 hours of audio recordings, many of which feature annotations by the crew members themselves. The material provides scientists and the public with unprecedented insight into the mission’s operations and observations.
The release is part of NASA’s effort to increase transparency and support ongoing research related to lunar exploration. Users can download the files directly from the site for analysis or educational purposes.
Why It Matters
The open access to Artemis II data helps researchers and educators in the US and Europe advance lunar science and technology development.
