Ten Hag Says Ronaldo Let Manchester United and Him Down

Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has publicly criticised Cristiano Ronaldo, stating the Portuguese forward "let the team and let me down" during his time at Old Trafford. The comments were made in a recent interview where Ten Hag reflected on the striker's spell at the club.

Ten Hag's remarks highlight the disappointment felt by the coaching staff after Ronaldo's performance failed to meet expectations. The former Dutch manager emphasized that the striker's impact fell short of what the club needed to achieve its objectives on the pitch.

The criticism adds to ongoing discussions about United's recruitment strategy and the challenges of integrating high‑profile players into a rebuilding squad. Ten Hag, who left United in 2024, used the episode to illustrate broader issues of squad cohesion and managerial authority.
